TPO and conservation checks

We check whether the tree is covered by a TPO or sits in a conservation area before quoting. A breach fines the homeowner, not us, up to £20,000.

Full site assessment

We check access, the tree's size and species, and nearby buildings, fences and power lines before quoting, so the price reflects the real job.

Controlled felling or dismantling

Where there is room we fell in a single controlled drop. In tighter gardens we dismantle piece by piece from the top down using rigging.

Timber and waste cleared

All timber, branches and green waste are removed from site as standard and recycled. Let us know if you would like logs or chippings kept.

Stump grinding on request

If the stump needs to go too, we can grind it out on the same visit as the removal, finishing the job in one call-out rather than two.

This is our published starting price for removal work. What you actually pay depends on access to the tree, its size and species, how close it is to buildings or power lines, whether TPO or conservation area consent is needed, and how much waste has to be cleared.

Protected trees, TPOs and conservation areas

Many trees across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns are protected by a Tree Preservation Order, or sit within a conservation area. Carrying out work on a protected tree without the council's consent is an offence, and the liability falls on the tree owner, not the contractor.

Before any work starts we check whether a tree is protected, prepare the council application on your behalf where consent is needed, and carry out the work to the specification the council approves. It is one less thing for you to worry about, and it keeps you the right side of the rules.

Do I need permission to remove a tree in Buckinghamshire?
You may. Are you insured for tree removal work?
Yes, we are insured up to £10 million public liability, a figure published on our own website. Ask us for the certificate before work starts if you would like to see it, particularly for larger jobs near buildings or boundaries.
What happens to the wood and waste?
All timber, branches and green waste are cleared from site as standard and recycled responsibly. If you would like to keep logs for firewood or chippings for the garden, tell us before we start and we will set them aside rather than take them away.
Can you remove a tree in a tight garden close to my house?
Yes. Where there is not enough room for a single controlled drop, we use sectional dismantling, taking the tree down piece by piece from the top using ropes and rigging, so we can work safely close to buildings, fences and other structures without a full-height felling zone.
How quickly can you fit in a removal?
We work Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm, and book in around the time a job needs, including any TPO or conservation area consent that has to be granted first. Get in touch with details of the tree and we will give you a realistic timeframe rather than an unrealistic one.
