What our stump grinding covers
Fast, tidy stump grinding that clears the trip hazard and regrowth risk, leaving the ground ready for planting, landscaping or paving, with the site left clean afterwards.
Site check before grinding
We look at the stump's size, species and location, including nearby paving, pipes or cables, before deciding on the right grinding equipment for the job.
Ground below ground level
Specialist grinding equipment breaks the stump down below the surface, removing the regrowth risk and leaving the area ready for replanting.
Single stumps or multiple on one visit
Whether you have one stump in a domestic garden or several across a larger site, we bring the right machinery to deal with them efficiently in one call-out.
Chippings left or removed, your choice
Grinding produces wood chippings, which we can leave on site for use as mulch or ground cover, or remove entirely if you would rather the area was cleared.
Minimal ground disruption
Grinding is far less disruptive than digging out a stump and its roots, so lawns, borders and paving nearby stay largely undisturbed.
What stump grinding typically costs
This is our published starting price for stump removal. Cost depends on the stump's size, species and location, access for grinding equipment, and how many stumps need treating.
Protected trees, TPOs and conservation areas
Many trees across Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns are protected by a Tree Preservation Order, or sit within a conservation area. Carrying out work on a protected tree without the council's consent is an offence, and the liability falls on the tree owner, not the contractor.
Before any work starts we check whether a tree is protected, prepare the council application on your behalf where consent is needed, and carry out the work to the specification the council approves. It is one less thing for you to worry about, and it keeps you the right side of the rules.
